I specifically used a modified version of the chassis made for MechMaven (https://www.instructables.com/MechaMaven-the-Educational-Robot-Explorer/), by earldanielph on instructables. I simply cut it down to fit the competition size guidelines. The aforementioned was used only as a carriage for the motors, with the rest of the chassis being made of two layers of coroplast to hold the microcontroller, sensors and batteries.
